Manchester United are considering whether to hijack Valencia's move for Argentina World Cup midfielder Enzo Perez.
The Spaniards have made a £20million approach to Benfica for Perez, who has also been tracked by the Old Trafford side's scouts.
The 28-year-old recently signed a new four-year deal at the Portuguese side after an impressive season, where he really came to the fore as a top-class operator.
"There is the possibility of playing for Valencia, who are a great club, but right now I want to be fully focused on the Argentina national team and on the World Cup," said Perez, who played in the quarter-final defeat of Belgium on Saturday.
