INFERNO: Woman Burnt To Death Trying To Rescue Money

A young woman is reported to have died from severe fire burns sustained during a fire explosion in her residence at Uzere community in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that the woman popularly called Esther (surname withheld) hails from Akiewhe community in Isoko North Local Government Area, but resides at Uzere with her lover before the incident occurred.
The victim, who sells petrol in the black market, had large plastic barrels inside her house where she stores fuel.
On that fateful day, she had prepared a meal but, unknown to her, the kerosene stove she used was not completely put off, and the jars of fuel caught fire which took her life.
Investigation revealed that the victim was responsible for her death. An eye witness disclosed that the victim, who had managed to escape the initial fire explosion, later ran back into the house in a bid to collect her N200,000 which she claimed was her group’s money despite appeals against her bid by the crowd which were gathered at the blaze scene.
Unfortunately for her, she was not as lucky as she thought because the house was already in flames and even when she emerged several minutes later, she had been severely burnt and the money she held in her hands were partially burnt.
Sympathizers were said to have rushed her to hospital for immediate medical attention but on the way she gave up the ghost.
