Ebola: FG Directs All Schools To Resume October 13

In a determined effort aimed at containing to its barest minimum the spread of the dreaded Ebola virus disease (EVD), the Federal Government arising from a meeting with all the state commissioners of education and the FCT education secretariat has directed all schools both private and public to re-open on Monday, October 13, 2014 for the next academic session.


In a collaborative meeting attended by senior officials of the Federal Ministry of Health, the state commissioners of health and the FCT education secretariat, the government on Tuesday concluded on some preventive measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students in the schools throughout the federation before the resumption.

Briefing newsmen, Ibrahim Shekarau, the minister of education, said, “All primary and secondary schools, both public and private, are to remain closed until Monday, 13th October, 2014 which is the new school resumption date for all schools throughout the federation. This is to ensure that adequate preventive measures are put in place before the students report back to school”. Details later….[buisnessday]
