Dangote emerges World’s biggest loser on Forbes Rich list

Africa’s richest man and its pride, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has been pronounced by Forbes as the world’s biggest loser as its new wealthiest list was released on Monday, March 2, 2015.

The 57 year-old Kano born mogul was placed in number 67 on the list with a net-worth of $14.7 billion. Last year, the soft-spoken President of Dangote Group was worth $25 billion, and sat proudly at number 23 on the coveted list.

Nigerian Pilot gathered on Thursday that Uhunmwangho was “retired” from the state Civil Service with immediate effect for allowing the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan use the Ogbe Stadium in Benin City for her husband’s second term campaign rally.

However, the state government alleged that the permanent secretary was removed for withholding information crucial to its interest and the general public, but the information was discovered to be the approval he gave to the First Lady for the use of the stadium on March 14.

It was further learnt that Uhunmwangho’s trouble started after granting permit to the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to use the Ogbe Stadium to host Patience Jonathan while the country’s major opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) had earlier indicated interest to use the same facility on that same day.

Market women, friends and sympathisers on Wednesday converged on Queen Street in the Oyingbo area of Lagos State to mourn the Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers, Yaba Unit, Babajide Dosunmu, a.k.a Mados, who was killed by some yet-to-be identified gunmen.

Forty six-year-old Mados, who was also said to be the Vice Chairman, Lagos Mainland branch of the NURTW, was reportedly shot dead at the back of his house by the assailants while parking his car.

A Federal High Court in Lagos  metropolis yesterday barred the further broadcast of defamatory documentaries on the vice presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, by the African Independent Television. R&B singer Angie Stone was arrested Monday in Georgia for domestic aggravated assault ... and the victim is her 30-year-old daughter.

Police in Dekalb County tell TMZ ... 53-year-old Angie told police her daughter Diamond punched her in the face. Angie then told police she defended herself with a metal stand, but accidentally hit Diamond in the face ... knocking out her front teeth. 

Angie told police once she realized the mistake she put down the stand and tried to flee ... but claims Diamond came after her again. A family friend eventually broke up the fight.

34 confirmed dead im maiduguri Bomb Blast

About 34 persons have been confirmed dead while about 42 seriously injured in the bomb blast that rocked the Maiduguri Monday Market along Ahmadu Bello way in Borno state this afternoon.

According to reports, the 42 injured persons are currently receiving treatment in various medical centers in the city. Only last weekend, the city was rocked with three suicide bomb attacks that left 54 people dead.

The photos of the barbaric execution was shared online today. Two of the men were accused of being homosexuals and the third one accused of Blasphemy. They were blindfolded and taken to a traffic roundabout with a crowd looking on.
