Julius Agwu Steps Downs from 2015 Campaign for Rivers State Governorship Position

After declaring his intentions to run for the Governorship position in Rivers state 3 months ago, ace comedian Julius Agwu has reportedly stepped down from contesting for the seat of the governor of the state.

According to a statement released by Julius Agwu’s manager Prince Sunday Uwem, “There was a meeting (Thursday, October 30) between Julius Agwu and his kinsmen from Ikwere, and it was agreed that he should step down from the governorship race because the current Governor Rotimi Amaechi is his friend and they are both from the same area. They’ll want the position to rotate to another part of the state and Julius Agwu has decided to listen to his people and withdraw from contesting.”

This announcement is coming a few days after Julius Agwu insinuated that he had been getting calls from certain political groups who were pressuring him to join them so as to guarantee his success in polictics.

According to NETng, there is still a chance of Julius Agwu running for other political positions in the future.
