Pastor Arrested With Drugs At Enugu Airport

A pastor with the Gospel Faith International Mission, Lagos, has been arrested by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, for smuggling 1.978 kilogrammes of heroin concealed in a false bottom of his luggage. Daniel Akintola, 43, was caught at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, on an inward flight from Entebbe, Uganda.

In a statement Wednesday, the NDLEA said Mr. Akintola, who claimed to be returning from a Pastors’ Conference in Uganda, wanted to abandon his luggage at the arrival hall for fear of arrest.

Kaduna Residents Seek Alternative Sater Sources As Scarcity Persists

Most residents of Kaduna State are scrambling for alternative clean water sources for their daily usage, as acute water scarcity is biting hard in the north-western Nigeria State The water scarcity has been attributed to the breakdown of services by the State Water Board.

Industrial action by electricity workers last Monday had initially caused a breakdown in supply. But after the strike was called off, a power transmission line to the Malali Water Treatment plant, which supplies water to the metropolis and environs, got damaged.

33-yr-old Truck Driver Murdered Friend Over Food

LAGOS—A 33-year-old trailer driver, who reportedly stabbed his friend to death on Monday night at Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos State, has confessed that his action was a mistake he regretted.

It was learned that the suspect, identified as Tunde Azeez, allegedly stabbed Lukmon Ayedun with a broken bottle at 8:42pm during a brawl.

Vanguard learned that trouble started when the suspect purportedly bought food from a vendor, woke his friend from sleep to eat.

His actions provoked Lukmon, who reacted by hitting Azeez and a fight ensued.

Bollywood star, Salman Khan Jailed Five Years For Hit And Run.

One of my favorite Bollywood stars, Salman Khan has been sentenced to a five years jail term.

He was sentenced by an Indian court for killing a homeless man in a 2002 hit-and-run driving incident in Mumbai.

The man was among five people who were run over in the incident. The actor who is currently Bollywood's highest paid star, was charged with culpable homicide.

Khan had said his driver was behind the wheel, but the judge said the actor was driving the car and was under the influence of alcohol at the time.

Finance Minister Okonjo-Iweala Says | "Working for FG Made Me Hypertensive".

The minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has lamented that the search for funds for Nigeria is taking its toll on her and other government workers.

She said over 70 per cent of the workers in the Federal Ministry of Finance, including top officials, have high blood pressure as a result of excessive stress at work.
